Loreen was vocalist of German-born Turkish singer Aynur Aydın!

An interesting detail about Loreen! Loreen who wins the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, she was back vocalist of Turkish singer Aynur Aydın. Aynur Aydın last year released album of Turkish and English “12 Ways to La La”. Loreen had vocals in English.

Who is Aynur Aydın?

AYNUR is a German pop singer of Turkish descent.

The name AYNUR has an Arabic origin, meaning “Moonlight”.

As a daughter of european-turkish immigrants AYNUR was born and raised in Munich. AYNUR is second oldest of four siblings and developed a passion for music at an early age.

Although she is very close to her Turkish roots, AYNUR also sees herself as a “Citizen of the World”.

She has already lived in many countries such as Bulgaria, The Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and Turkey. That’s why she fluently speaks German, Dutch, Turkish, English and some Swedish. At the age of 10, AYNUR started singing and also gained experience by performing on Children’s and Youth Theater stages.

She attended the Friedrich-List-Wirtschaftsschule and also went for a couple of semester to the “Stage School for Performing Arts” in Munich.

AYNUR also has a very close relationship to the well know european opera singer Daniela Dinato who recognized her talent at an early stage and started tutoring her with private vocal lessons. Daniela Dinato supported and encouraged AYNUR to fulfill her dream of being a singer and performer. In the following, about the age of 18 she started out performing on shows to carry on her talent.

Her greatest ambition in life was now music, so she invested all of her energy into making music.

Around 2000, she became a member of the Turkish group SURPRIZE and they produced their first album in Istanbul. Numerous international performances quickly followed. AYNUR also wrote her very first song for the album.

SURPRIZE took part at the European Song Contest for Germany and became second runner up.

After several very successful years with SURPRIZE, AYNUR left the group and decided to work as a solo artist.

In 2003, AYNUR also participated in the German Preliminary Contest of the European Song Contest and became second runner up, that’s how she as well generated a buzz in Turkey.

In 2008, among other things she contributed the FABIA campaign song “It’s so true” as an artist for the automobile manufacturer SKODA and for many years her voice is also featured in the choir of numerous music productions.

In 2010, AYNUR finally started to pursue her dream of a solo career and in order to work with them she lined up some of the current hit producers and song writers to produce her first solo album.

Now, Toni Nilsson (September, A-Teens, X-Factor), Moh Denebi (Medina, Ace of Bace) Darin Zanyar (Leona Lewis, X-Factor) or as an arranger Henrik Janson (Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, et al.) have worked on the album.

For the turkish version of the album AYNUR also set her genuine signature as a lyricist and executive producer.

Tonight the 2nd Semifinal

The Eurovision Song Contest is still underway in Baku, Azerbaijan. Eurovision pits European nations (and their nearby neighbors) against each other in a pop-music battle royale, with only one carefully-cultivated act surviving.

Eurovision gave the world Abba, and it’s been riding that group’s success ever since. Eurovision: you either get it or you don’t… and, even if you get it, you still may hate it. At any rate, the second Semifinal of Eurovision 2012 is kicking off soon.

he 18 acts competing in the second Eurovision 2012 semifinal seem to have less interesting names (no Trackshittaz or Rambo Amadeus, though Kaliopi is kind of neat, we guess). Instead, these pop acts are bringing songs with titles (but not tunes) reminiscent of already-existing hits.

Your 18 acts in Eurovision Semifinal 2 are:

  • Belarus (“We Are The Heroes”- echoes the classic Bowie title)
  • Bosnia & Herzegovina
  • Bulgaria (is linking “Love Unlimited” to Grace Jones’ “Love on Top of Love” too much of a stretch? Grace Jones rules)
  • Croatia
  • Estonia
  • Macedonia
  • Georgia (“I’m a Joker” evokes the Steve Miller Band)
  • Lithuania (“Love Is Blind” reminds us of U2′s “Love is Blindness”, in title, anyway)
  • Malta
  • Norway (“Stay” – Lisa Loeb made that song title famous)
  • Portugal
  • Serbia
  • Slovakia
  • Slovenia
  • Sweden
  • Netherlands (“You And Me” is reminiscent of the Penny & the Quarters tune)
  • Turkey
  • Ukraine(“Be My Guest” is not from the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack, alas)

Not to play favorites and not, heavens forfend, to troll, but we’re hoping that one of these acts will not only crush Jedward in the final, but erase them entirely from the pop-music landscape. We will post the results as soon as we get them.

INFE Network would like to wish them all good luck and may the best songs qualify.

izabo

Group Izabo for Israel

Today, the national broadcaster of Israel (IBA) has selected internally the rock-pop band Izabo to represent this country in the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest with the song ‘Time’. Izabo’s entry, ‘Time’, was written by Ran Shem-Tov and Shiri Hadar. The song is described as pop with oriental flavour.

Izabo’s music has been described as a ‘brilliant, action packed combination of psychadelic rock, disco, punk and arabic spices’. Featuring high-to-ultra-high vocals, twisting and expressive Arab-flavoured guitar work, powerfully funky basslines, arrogantly catchy keyboards and intense disco beats, Izabo have established themselves as one of Israel’s most absorbing live acts.

Izabo’s debut LP, ‘Fun makers’, was released late 2003 to great critical acclaim. The songs ‘Morning hero’ and ‘Cook me’ became significant radio hits in Israel. In the following months Izabo signed on to Sony BMG, which released their British debut, The ‘Morning hero’ EP. The release was accompanied by a concert tour which took Izabo to England, Scotland and the Netherlands.

The band is made up of Ran Shem-Tov (vocals and guitar), Shiri Hadar (keyboards), Jonathan Levy (bass guitar) and Nir Mantzur (drums).

Iris

16 year old Iris for Belgium

Belgian broadcaster VRT has announced that Laura van den Bruel (aka Iris) will represent her country at the 2012 edition of Europe’s Favourite TV Show in Baku.

Originating from Herentals, Van den Bruel is, at the tender age of just 16, the youngest artist ever chosen by VRT to represent Belgium. Currently her song Wonderful is topping the Belgian charts and has been doing so for five weeks now.

She performs under the name Iris and has appeared on MNM, Q-Music and Joe FM. An internal selection group at VRT noticed her on YouTube amongst other platforms. Her music has been described as “country pop” but is not necessarily the style of the song she will perform in Baku.

Spokesman Björn Verdoodt said, “VRT will approach a number of songwriters and ask them to write a song for Iris”. The next few months will be spent preparing her for one of the biggest music competitions in the world.

Muriel Day

Muriel Day (born 11 January 1942) is an Irish singer. Born in Newtownards, County Down, she was the first singer from Northern Ireland to represent the Republic of Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest. She was also the first woman to perform for Ireland, which had been competing since 1965. After making her name in the Irish showband circuit, and appearing in the British film Billy Liar in 1963, Day was chosen as Ireland’s Eurovision contestant with the song “The Wages of Love” in 1969. Though the song was a great hit in Ireland, it only finished seventh internationally, in a year with four winners. As a result of her performance, however, she was offered the chance to record with Peter Warne, producing the enduring hit “Nine Times out of Ten”. After moving to Canada in 1971, where she continued her career, Day eventually took up medicine and became a laser therapist. She returned to Belfast in the 1990s, where she has been performing regularly.

Muriel day belongs to an elite group of female vocalists like Dusty Springfield, Petula Clarke and Cilla Black. Not perhaps what you might expect from a humble girl from Newtownards, County Down. Irish singer Muriel Day is a special talent. Her beauty, sparkling personality, powerful, haunting voice, stage presence and her versatility to sing in so many genres of music, from massive diva pop numbers, jazz, blues, gospel and is now making regular appearances around Ireland singing country music performing with the Royalty of Country Music Philomena Begley, Susan McCann, Mike Denver, Nathan Carter and of course her show band comrades Brian Coll, Frankie McBride, Larry Cunningham to name but a few and was nominated to her surprise for the Best Female Country Artist at the 2011 Northern Ireland Country Music Awards.

The release of country song ‘shut up and drive’ a vocal performance to die for, and an unforgettable tune influenced by the contemporary country and pop scenes, proved to be a big hit on radio and not just in Ireland but also at the home of Country in Nashville and has been offered the opportunity to perform at the Grand old Opry. Late November 2010 Muriel had a Christmas song especially written for her entitled “Merry Christmas” which was too late to get released last year but his available to download on itunes.

Muriel has also been a highlight for so many at the “do you come here often” showbands shows in Belfast, Dublin and Derry that have been an annual fixture in so many peoples diaries for the last 16 years.

It’s the s…heer magnitude of Muriel’s talent that has endeared her to audiences for the last four decades. She’s impressed her fans over the years with a staggering three to four costume changes in each set, proving herself a dazzlingly natural stage presence at every turn. Many of her fans know and love her best for her appearance as the 1st female to represent Ireland in the 1969 Eurovision Song Contest in Madrid where she came fourth with “The Wages of Love” before moving to Canada for over 20 years where she performed. But Muriel has been singing blues and jazz since the age of 15 with such bands as The Saints and then fronted the popular Dave Glover Showband. She has performed in venues across Ireland, UK, USA and for illustrious audiences including the likes of Playboy’s Hugh Heffner. Muriel can also add supporting the late Dusty Springfield, performing in the 1963 film ‘Billy Liar’s, even Van Morrison supported her in the early 60′s.

Watch Muriel a few years ago in the waterfront hall in Belfast at “do you come here often” performing the massive hit by dusty Springfield “you don’t have to say you love me” who Muriel supported on tour plus “Proud Mary” and “Who’s Sorry Now ”
