Roman Lob back to Germany with poor reception & media impact

After placing 8 with 110 points, the thirs consecutive top-10 for Germany, Roman Lob is back in Germany. Like in 2011 Germany did not get any 12 points but 5 times 10 points.

Only a few journalist came to greet Roman at the airport, no friends, family of fans wanted to wake up early to welcome their representative, the flight landed at 05.47AM in Frankfurt, then Roman continued his trip to Cologne by train, to attend the TV-show TV-Total conducted by Stefan Raab.

In the show Roman stated: “I am really happy with the 8th place and with the overall experience in Baku, I will definetely miss this days”, he also joked about some experiences with Engelbert Humperdink.

German Media has reacted to the message with a huge “Danke Anke!” while  journalists all over the country praised the TV presenter / humorist for her behaviour in a Eurovision contest placed in a dictatorial country.

Finland, Belgium, Slovakia and San Marino are at the bottom of the list for tonight´s semifinal.

First Semifinal rehearsal review

First semifinal rehearsal has just finished and the 18 entries showed their choices live on the Baku Crystal Hall. Romania with Mandinga gave the best impression so far, Elena in a red dress captured the audience; Rona Nishliu gave an outstanding performance again although she will need to control her voice a bit more to avoid bad surprises; Iris is the youngest talent of this year but controls the stage her performance was incredible.

San Marino still needs to improve same as Switzerland. Russia big favourites to win are just an entertaining act, no more than this, they came on stage with an oven baking pancakes. Great impression also from Denmark and Soluna Samay, she felt great on the stage and this is a song that we all need to consider. Jonsi and Greta did good as well the due works close as a team on stage.

Pernilla was a bit nervous on stage and the opening act from Rambo Amadeus was full of chaos, even Rambo lost track of the song. Ivi Adamou is still having real issues with her voice, while Eleftheria provided a great impression and even better dance act. Last but not least Ireland with a wet end of the performance.

Lack of experience on the conducting team, none of the 3 was fresh and spontaneous enough to click with the audience, they also need to work it out before tomorrow.
